It was launched in 1998 as a family business, born from the memory of the bad experiences they had while eating with their family in various restaurants, including over-colouring and the use of artificial sweeteners or flavours that made food taste better but caused health issues among their family members.

Our Story

Gopal's is a family-run business that was founded in 1988.

We started our kitchen with a simple vision in our minds that was to bring back the rich culinary traditions of India to the heart of London. And we are also one of the few Halal Indian restaurants in Soho that bring the rich culinary traditions of India to London, and also offer the guests a warm dining experience.
We have been serving the real Indian cuisine for thirty years with the right combination of spices and recipes around the city that celebrate the diverse flavours of authentic Indian cuisine in London. From the tandoors that sizzle with a heart-warming aroma to traditional desserts, we have a plate for every craving.
On today’s date, Gopal’s of Soho continues to welcome all people: locals and visitors from around the world who come to enjoy the real Indian food in the heart of London.
